Dreamweaver 2.0 is one the best professional site design programs available, however it is commercial software which you will need to purchase. Soon, this software will be available from the ACCC Online Store, but until then, if you would like to find information about where to purchase this product, send an email to support@accc.net.au

When you first start work on a new site in Dreamweaver, you will need to open the define sites window.

This is done by clicking on the File menu, and then selecting Open Site, and then Define Sites...

That will bring up the Define Sites window:

You can either click on New... or Edit... to create or edit a site. You will probably be clicking on New.

Next you will see the Site Definition window:

Click on Local Info (see red arrow above).

Enter in these settings:

1) Where it says Site Name field, you can put anything you like, eg Webtest
2) In the Local Root Folder field, you will need to browse your hard-disk to find the folder you would like you website to be stored in.
3) In the HTTP Address field, enter http://203.42.26.123 or your domain name.
4) Put a check in Cache, to speed things up.

Now click on Web Server Info:

Enter these settings:
1) In the Server Access drop-down menu, select FTP.
2) In the FTP Host field, enter 'http://yourdomain.com.au' or 'http://203.42.26.123'
3) In the Host Directory field, enter is blank
4) In the Login field, enter you login access name, eg fred.
5) In the Password field, enter your password. If you need a new password, use our Password Changer program.

Don't worry about Check In/Out or Site Map Layout.

Click on the OK button.

Now, when you are ready to upload your site, go into the Site Map (or Site Files) window, and click Connect.

Dreamweaver will now connect to Your web site.

All you need to do now is select the file you would like uploaded, and click Put (see below):

You may see the Dependant Files dialog appear:

If it is the first time you have uploaded this page, you should probably click Yes. This will upload every image and dependant file associated with this page.
This takes quite a while, so if you are just uploaded an updated page with, lets say, a correct spelling mistake, you will probably want to just click No, because it will be much faster.

As soon as you move the file to the server, it is viewable online in a browser. Because browsers cache files, you may need to hold the shift key and click reload or refresh in order to see the latest version.
